In view of the declining infection figures everywhere, the French government has decided on the second phase of the déconfinement (relaxation of the lockdown measures). This means that nothing now stands in the way of running our guided and self-guided trips from 15 June onwards. We are doing everything to meet the current travel requirements.

Since the beginning of August 2020, France has seen COVID-19 infection rates rise again from a low level. The national territory is divided into warning levels according to the level of infection. Only the overseas territories of Mayotte and Guyana are currently in the "orange" warning level, where even more extensive precautionary measures apply in comparison to the other "green" classified national territory. On 14 August, the urban area of Paris (département 75) and the département of Bouches du Rhône (13, Marseilles) were classified as areas with an increased virus spread, with the consequence that the authorities there can restrict selected areas of public life.

Our partners from hotels, bed and breakfast accommodations, gîtes and restaurants are allowed to reopen throughout the country from 2 June. They had already been preparing meticulously for the reopening of their activities for several weeks. We will make sure that they will take all sanitary precautions to ensure that you can be accommodated and eat safely and in accordance with the official guidelines. Adapted distance and hygiene rules apply: Up to 10 persons at one table, 1 m distance between tables, masks must be worn by staff and guests when moving around in closed spaces. We will inform you prior to your trip on the measures taken by our partners.
We will advise cyclists from different households that they should keep a distance of 2 m while cycling (formerly 10 m).
On 15 June 2020, France will again open its borders to holidaymakers from other European countries. A decision on opening the exterior borders of the Schengen zone will be taken until June 22.
By car: Random entry checks are carried out at the borders. Tourists are allowed to enter the country.
By bus and train: reservations are compulsory for all trains (TGV and regional trains TER). In June about 50 percent of all trains run, in July it should be 100 percent. In local and long-distance traffic there is a mask obligation (see below). To comply with the distance rules, only every second seat is available.
By plane: Intra-European air traffic is also expected to increase progressively again from 15 June. Body temperature is measured during boarding.
Masks have been compulsory throughout France since 11 May in public transport, taxis and all other transport companies (from 11 years of age). In case of violation, a fine of 135 € must be expected. For shops, it is strongly recommended to wear a mask.
Please note and respect the barrier measures in force in France to contain Covid-19 (more information at this link): no shaking hands, keep a safe distance of 1 m from people, wash your hands regularly or use hand disinfectants, cough or sneeze in your elbows or in a disposable tissue, avoid touching your face.
The development of the covid-19 epidemic in France is constantly monitored by the authorities using the map material at this link, which classifies the French départements in red and green on the basis of three indicators (activity of the virus, occupancy rate of intensive care beds and testing capacity). At the moment, the whole territory is classified as "green" except for the Paris region. In France, the epidemic has mainly affected the départements in the north-east, the Ile de France (Paris region) and the north.
